A bridal shower is the traditional celebratory party for the bride.  In a wedding shower, both the bride and groom are in attendance.

They are both the same.   A bridal shower is party hosted in honor of the bride.  Guests buy the bride items she'll need to set up her new household.   So, items such as:  towels, kitchen items, small appliances, china set, dishes, bedroom sheets, etc.
