AVG free 8 is an full anti-virus and anti-malware program with real-time protection. However the free version does not have protection against unknown rootkits.

Adware SE is outdated... Adware 2008 is the newest version. It's an anti-spyware/malware tool, not a replacement for an antivirus such as AVG. The free version doesn't have real-time. A few years ago this was one of the best but now it is not so good.

I think you should get AVG free and use SuperAntiSpyware free and Malwarebytes Antimalware free for on-demand scanners.

Different companies, you can use both.

Adware is outdated.

For better protection, you should use spybot search and destroy for anti-spyware, anti-adware and anti-trojan.

Use AVG for anti-virus.

adaware detects adware, spyware, malware. AVG detects viruses.

No. You do not need both. It is a bad idea to run two anti-virus at the same time.
