  1. LCD is Liquid Crystal Display and Plasma is Plasma.

    Go with LCD.

  2. simple:

LCD:  has a liquid in the screen

Plasma: has a gas in the screen

  3. LCD = Liquid Crystal Display and Plasma = gas. LCD has a longer life span than plasma. By lifespan I refer to the years of service that you will get from the set (LED or Plasma) you choose. A plasma screen's life is is calculated in hundreds of hours.

Plasma has been known to suffer from "burn in" on the TV screen. For example, some networks continuously display their logos on the bottom right portion of the screen as you watch their programming. That logo never moves and because it never moves some plasma screens will permanently have that logo's "ghost"  or "artifact" burned into your screen.
