  1. Obviously you have never been to college... a College is a SCHOOL a University is a COLLECTION OF COLLEGES under one name.

  2. It can be the same. A school of higher learning than high school.

Modesto Jr College 2 year degree AA

California State University 4 year college leading to a BA.

  3. I went to Linfield College, a small liberal arts college, not part of a larger university.  A college grants baccalaureate degrees (B.A., B.S. ... etc.) and Masters in some areas but not doctoral degrees.  I would not call Linfield simply a school.

My daughter wants to go to Seattle Pacific University, also a smaller institution of higher education, divided into the structure given below:

    Academic Structure

    College of Arts and Sciences:

        Fine Arts

        Humanities

        Science and Engineering

        Social and Behavioral Sciences

    Schools:

        Business and Economics

        Education

        Health Sciences

        Psychology, Family and Community

        Theology

Seattle Pacific grants baccalaureate degrees, Masters, and doctoral degrees.  A larger university will have more colleges and schools within the academic structure and more degree programs available. Note that Seattle Pacific differentiates between college and schools, probably due to the degree programs in each.

I hope that clarifies things for you.  But this isn't really a special education question, is it?
