Question:

Whats the difference between cross training in MRI or going to an actual school based program?

will be attending radiography school, but was wondering if i should look into attending MRI programs, or is cross level on the job training just as good? eventually i definetly want to be in the Magentic Resonance Imaging field and would like to know the best way to go about it?

  1. Most MRI formal educational programs are very expensive.  They are usually offered by "schools" which are exist to make a ton of money off of you.  Most MRI techs are crossed trained on the job.  Most employers want to cross train their staff, so they have more flexibility in their scheduling.  And, in order to take the ARRT's MRI registry exam, you are not required to attend a formal educational program (unlike the ARRT's radiography exam).
