  1. Distilled water has had almost all of its minerals removed, so it will tend to taste "flat". It's not necessarily the best thing to drink as it can leach some of the minerals out of your body, but a little won't hurt you.

Bottled water is generally just spring or lake water that's been filtered to remove bacteria and other microorganisms, and is also sometimes passed through charcoal to remove chloramines and heavy metals if they're present in the source. Unlike distilled, the minerals are left in it. In fact that's the very benefit claimed.

Drinking water from the tap is virtually the same as bottled water, but it's also chlorinated to prevent harmful pathogens from growing in it while it's in the pipe. It can also pick up off tastes from house plumbing (rust, etc.) Filtering it will remove the off tastes and chlorine and so make it more pleasant to drink.

Spring water is the same as tap or bottled water, (a "spring" technically is an underground artesian source) but without filtering or chlorine added. But it's not always healthy - many upstream sources are contaminated with giardia from runoff, which is why backpackers take purification kits.

  2. Distilled is tap water that's been purified and spring is water from a natural spring that has been purified.

  3. robapel4 is correct.  the rest are wrong, I just looked it up and distilled water is boiled,  its not just from the tap....  and his other answers are also what I found out.  Look things up before just guessing people.  its not at all hard   :)

  4. Distilled, as you know, has all minerals and contaminants removed. Drinking water is tap water that has been filtered and ozonated. Spring water comes from a spring, supposedly, so it has no additives such as chlorine or flouride, and it is also ozonated to kill any bacteria.

  5. Distilled water is pure water. Water is boiled so that steam is let off leaving anything that is not water behind. The steam is collected and run through a cooling system where it is changed back to water and collected. Nothing but H2O.

Spring water is suppose to be from a natrual source, not from the tap. Spring water can be untreated, filtered, or purfied. Usually it is only filtered so I will never get it.

Drinking water is most likely just untreated tap water. Anything that has minimal treatment to be considered safe enough more normal consumption is considered drinking water. This can mean tap, filtered, purified, or distilled. Most likely if it had any of the last 3 they would say it so I bet it is usually just tap or maybe filtered.

  6. distilled is from the sink basically

    spring is from a bottle

drinking water is any water that is clean enough to drink..lol
