Question:

Whats the difference between dry ski slope and snow for a snowboarder? (i have only been on snow)?

(im talking about turning methods and things are they the same? i have been snowboarding 5 years and i just moved to england no snow :(

  1. Dry slopes just arnt the same dude. We have on for the summer at my local resort and they just dont do it for me.

    Basically its just carpet with some dish soap and rails set up.

    Its definatly not easy to carve into. You go extremley fast on it and it can throw you directions you are not ready for.

    Basically its just not the same as snowboarding but if you need your summer fix try it out.

A dry slope is a hill covered in a carpet-like material that slides like real snow if I remember correctly.  It's obviously not like snow, but it's good for summer and places that snow isn't easily accessible or available.  You can also coat certain surfaces with this goo that also makes it apparently act like snow.

    Real snow is...well, real snow.  No substitutes.

  4. I have heard of sand boarding - I have heard that it is somewhat similar to snow because the board can still side slip through sand.

    A dry ski slope is always covered with rocks and bushes and wouldn't be much good for any kind of downhill pursuits except maybe mountain bike trails.
