  1. you ovulate one day of the month, and you're most fertile between the day that you ovulate up to 3 days after ovulation, some women also have intercourse a cuople of days before ovulation date to be on the safe side, so you ovulate one day and you are fertile for a few days :)

    good luck!!

  2. OK so Tina's right -- there are several ways to define fertile. But I suspect you're asking the difference (in a normally fertile woman) between ovulation and the time in your cycle that you're fertile. That's easier to explain!

So, ovulation occurs around 14 days before your next period, and after ovulation the egg only lives for 6-24 hours. Not long. But you have a 'fertile window' which starts around 5 days before ovulation and expires when the egg does. That gives you about 6 days when you're fertile.

To make this all work better, nature changes the mucus around your cervix during the fertile time, which is why people talk about 'fertile cervical mucus'. This either looks really watery, or something like raw egg whites (EWCM) and it's the best pH level for helping and nourishing sperm en route to the egg. It also helps them to live for up to 5 days, just in case you BD a few days before ovulation happens.

    Hope this helps!

  3. your fertile when your ovulating

  4. I suppose it all depends on how you want to define the words . . . I always think of fertile as being capable of having a child.  Although it can apply to a window of time like ovulation . . . it does not have to.

Ovulation is a more specific term - when you are about to ovulate is the best time to try to conceive.

Ok - I think you might be confusing me, too if I think about this too hard!  LOL!
