  1. Yes every one is correct..cypriots are the living remants of ancient grecce they speak the most ancient form of greek ..for instance ...we greeks will say ( e gineka mou) they say..(kori)..the greek version is my wife..although kori ..just refers to the female gender....we greeks use the word kori ..when we describe our daughters...(e kori mou) my daughter.... i later learnt that  KORI in cypriot is a mark of respect towards females..

  2. Greek-Cypriots are Greeks: same race, same language, same blood, same history.

  3. SOME cyprus greeks have mixed with turkish/asian people that's why cypriots are darker looking then real Greeks

  4. definitely in dialect.

we speak greek except its a little more casual than mainland greek. theres definitely different "accents" than people who live in greece".  we also have different words for some things than mainland greeks.

And cyprus was colonized by the british, so there is some difference in culture, but it is still greek. In addition, half of cyprus is taken by the turks, so there has been some mixing of turks/greeks.

  5. Greek Cypriot dialect is very strong, sometimes hard for a mainland Greek to understand it.

Culture is basically the same, although according to recent  Eurostats, Cyprus is slightly more religious than Greece. When asked if you believe in God, 90% of Greek Cypriots answered 'yes' opposed to the 81% of mainland Greeks.

Other than that i see no difference.

  6. Greek - Cypriots are Greeks living in Cyprus. We have some differences in dialect, Cypriot is more archaic. Greek - Cypriot dialect is very similar with Cretan dialect.

  7. one difference is the dialect.

the other thing you need to know about the greeks is that every region of the greek world had been under the influence of different cultures and civilizations.

for example, we had the venetian influence in the ionian islands, the coasts of peloponnese, crete and cyprus.

greek cypriots had also been under the influence of the british, not so much in culture but in the way that cyprus is formed as a state, the laws and often in language (even if english words are part of globalization today, there it was a legacy of the colonization before )
