  1. Judo gis are thicker than Jujitsu gis

  2. Very simply put, Judo Gi's are baggier/looser fitting than BJJ Gi's.

  3. judo came from jiujitsu judos not as tough and jiujitsu gis are thicker the the average

  4. nonsense.....there are differences.

before judo..there were no "gi's" ...no belt ranks...and no breakfalls.

a judo gi was based on regular dress at the time, but made out of thicker canvas material so it wouldnt rip and tear. most japanese jujutsu schools use a judo gi (modern) or a keiko gi (traditional japaness atire with hakama pants (the skirt looking pants of samurai).

however a brazilian jujutsu gi jacket is shorter, and often the lapel (collar) is thicker and padded. and well...most of them are adorned with all kinds of patches and insignias....contrary to most traditional japanese judo/jujutsu schools which prefer white as a symbol of innocence and purity. (which is why you start with a white belt)

judo gi pants are generally shorter...and have knee pads as well.

basically a judo gi is a karate gi made of thicker "woven" canvas...often double thick. the jacket is normally long enough to touch your butt or even cover it. though i believe judo used the 'gi' first...karate stole it later, when funakoshi introduced karate to japan from okinawa.

a bjj gi is shorter (so your opponent cant grab it as easy) and the pants tend to be longer. i'm not sure if bjj gi's have knee pads or not.

a sambo gi or "kurtka" is even tighter fitting still.

they are basically all the same thing...with slight differences. but there are differences

  5. are you a fool??? DONT YOU SEE THE SPELLING AND THE WARDS ARE DIFFERENT... IS THIS A Question to ask????
