    and

The tortilla comes to us from the ancient Meso-Americans who included the Aztecs and many other peoples we never heard of. Wrap a tortilla around any food and it is called a taco. Fry or toast the tortilla so that it remains flat and put food on top and call it a tostada(toasted tortilla).

    Commercial nachos chips may vary in color, texture and process from the home made variety.

    In modern times the flour tortilla was invented. I add this because someone thought tortilla were made of wheat flour. In fact in Mexican grocery stores you can now buy whole wheat and multigrain flour tortillas.

    In modern times there also exist flour tortillas.
