  1. yes that is true. seedings are the standings of players participating in tournaments and are chosen as such for draw purposes. and the rankings are the standings of the tour's as a whole,as per the player's overall performances.

  2. Yes,guys are right,if someone is injured someone else will take his seed...But as i know there is one more thing that is important here, its about people that are responsible for the tournament could chose someone else (for example)for 3rd seed even if he is 2nd at the ATP/WTA race if that player was injured for some time and now coming back or if he is in bad form and they think he is not playing good on that surface....I think Hewitt was really mad on organisation of some Grand Slam as they putt him on 3rd seed even if he was 2nd on ATP...

  3. "Seeds are meant to be buried"

(exept when I am the seeded one)

  4. The quote is true. There isn't really much of a difference. If you are #9 in the world, you will be the #9 seed in a tournament. BUT, if you are in a tournament like the US Open, and you are... say the #5 in the world, but the #4 in the world isn't playing in that tournament, you are now the #4 seed. That's basically how it works.
