Whats the difference between regular philips and philips ambilight?

i want a hdtv but im stuck between lg, toshiba and philips

  1. Phillips Ambilight has a backlit frame.

    Kinda cool but just something else to go wrong.

    Its kinda like a mood lighting.

    You can easily turn it off.

    I like it myself..

    No.1 Toshiba

    No.2 LG

    No.3 Philips (with or without the mostly useless Ambilight)
