  1. well the difference between spriting and  running is that spriting is when you give it your all and running is just going at a fast pace.

  2. Sprints are short, fast, burst running. These would help your vertical the best.  Running is just plain moving one foot and then the other.  I believe suicide is jogging with short sprints thrown into it.

  3. The difference between sprinting and just running is where you are in respect to your lactic acid  threshold.  While sprinting you are using mostly glycogen as fuel with little use of oxygen, while running mostly fat is being used after  a duration of 30-45 minutes and oxygen is a key role of producing ATP in the Kreb cycle.  Define vertical training.  Do you want to jump higher?  If so plyometrics are the way to go.

  4. Running is when you are putting one foot in front of the other (like walking), but you leave the ground for a split specond.  Your advancing leg is also bent, unlike walking.  In addition to that, when people run they have a relatively long "heel recovery"  or the path which the heel takes when you run (eg. going back after hitting the ground, making a curve, and returning to the ground.  Also, you body uses more "aerobic energy" or energy for which oxygen is required when running.  This simply means that runner are breathing relatively more.

    Sprinting is exactly like running, but done at a much faster speed - usually the fastest speed a person can reach.  One characteristic that sets sprinting aside for running is a shorter heel recovery.  A sprinter also uses primarily "anaerobic" energy which does not require oxygen

    Suicides are a type of sprint with quick stops and turns.  Football, basketball, soccer, and other sports do suicides in a similar way on their field: Start at the base line of the field, run a quarter way down and back to the base line.  Then run half way down and back, then 3/4 and back, then all the way and back, all nonstop while sprinting (or at least trying).

    Sprinting and suicides would be best for verticle traing becuase they involve short, powerful bursts of energy.

  5. sprints=running as fast as you can

    running=just putting one foot in front of the other

    suicides=sprinting with stops and turns
