Whats the difference between street lights and traffic lights?

Street lights are the lights on the side of the roads used to illuminate the roads at night.

Traffic lights are the lights used to control traffic on cross roads for example. Red, Yellow, and Green.

Traffic lights are the lights that hang in the middle of the street that directs  traffic (red,yellow,green lights). Street lights are to light the area and are next to the street in the sidewalk area.

Street lights are high overhead pointing down at the street, to illuminate the street.  They are very bright.

Traffic lights (aka traffic signals) are lower overhead and point horizontally.  They light up different colored lights to signal traffic.  They are less bright than street lights.
