  1. To be honest, AMD is better but if you a laptop then better of buying a intel if your gonna take it on travel. AMD uses a lot of power than Intel. Intel doesn't really use power, it uses very less power.

I got a AMD ones and it uses a lot of power but i like fast computers though.

So if your travelling with a laptop then better off buying a Intel one.

IM me if you still not sure.

  2. To an average user they are the same. It's like you are asking, what is better a Ford or a Chevy. Their architecture is just different.Personally I am a AMD fan.

  3. The easiest answer to give is that the difference between the 2 is the same difference between Honda and Toyota. As far as the average use goes you will not notice any real difference between then with the exception that AMD equipped computers are generally cheaper to buy but the Intel machines will give you a slightly better battery life (Turion vs Centrino). that is about it. Also keep in mind that AMD overclocks their processors so a 2GHz AMD is around the same speed as a 1.6GHz Intel

  4. they really are the same thing, every once in a while one will pull ahead of the other with a new innovation (right now i think the Turion is better than Intel's current processor) but it really is a personal preference. I prefer the underdog when i'm buying things and right now AMD is the small underdog company

  5. The Intel Core 2 and the AMD Turion X2 are NOT the same in a great many aspects.

with a 6 cell li-Ion battery pack and a AMD Turion you may get 45-50 minutes of battery power.

with a 6 cell battery and a Intel Core 2 your likely to get 3-7 hours (I get about 4 in high performance mode)

AMD chips run fast and hot and always have, they exhibit a lot of raw power but the Turion series in particular has a severely shortened L1 and L2 cache making the Intel a much more efficient chip.  I own 2 laptops with both processors and the Intel wipes the floor with the AMD even in 64 bit mode.
