  1. YES! The ball that you say you were going to get for practice is GREAT,  that is the kind of ball we play with in our games.

  2. i agree w/the composite ppl...and sometimes u just gotta squish the volleyball a little to see how hard it is when it's full. nothing is worse than the feeling of a brick coming down when ur trying to bump and the pain spreading thru ur red arms...yuck.

tachikaras are the best if u ask me, cuz every single one of those that i've played w/work really well. my fav one is blue and white. wilson is pretty good too.

  3. i think the best volleyballs to play with, just for practicing, are the tachikara practice balls...they arent to hard, but yet not to soft....just perfect right in the middle!

  4. Go with a Tach or a Baiden.  They both have a variety of qulaity balls in different colours.  Leather tends to have a better feel to them.

  5. It really depends on where you are going to use it.  Never bring a leather ball of any kind outdoors because it'll be ruined before you finish the game.  Tachikara always have decent balls as long as you pay a bit more but the best Tachikara ball i found for all around use is http://www.sportsunlimitedinc.com/vb7500...

its a composite so you can take it outside and not worry about ruining the ball.  And it's in your price range.

  6. If this if for a practice ball we always use the mutli color SV-5WSC Tachikaras...they always last the longest.  They are the best composite ball and I feel closest to the leather balls in play.  I had a yellow and white one that played for 12 years....but boy was it ugly...

If this is for a tournament game ball...the leather ball feels better, but they only last for a season...after that the surface becomes slippery and some balls become hard.  If you are playing in tournaments that use a particular ball....I would suggest practicing with the tachi's (like hitting drills) and playing games with whatever ball is played in tournies in your area.

If you are just playing leagues...the difference in the balls is so minor....just get the cheaper Tachi mentioned above....That's all I use when I go play leagues...plus every so often someone steals a ball....so losing a $30 composite ball hurts much less than a $60 leather.  I also use permanent marker to put our club name on each ball prominently....balls are still stolen, but I've gotten a few back....even that ugly yellow one...it was MIA for three years.

    Hope that answers your question....

  7. well the ball you saw on that sight is good for indoor. i has good padding but not too much. indoor balls tend to be softer than outdoor. it doesnt really matter what type of cover it has. i would go with synthetic though. you get the feel of the leather but it wont wear out as fast

  8. overall a leather ball is always better for play.  truer touch when setting and serving in my opinion.  saying that, composite balls, molten, spalding have some great balls that feel great as well.  All in all, at your price point I would go with a composite ball, lasting you a long time and giving you a good feel.
