Whats the difference in taping your hockey stick from the middle of the blade to the toe?

The ice will tear up your blade more quickly.

It's more a feel thing then anything else.

1)blade gets large as you work towards toe , hence less puckering (2) as you skate if you have taped heel to toe any rough ice patch that your stick goes over does not grab the edge of the overlap as it is overlapped towards the back.
