  1. Well they are right(kaden,ps3 guru)

The New 80gb is the old 40gb,

And the current 40gb, and 80gb will be discontinued

  2. The 80GB core is just a 40GB with a bigger hard drive.  Nothing more.

  3. the 80GB out now has 4 usb slots, backwards compatibility (can play ps2 and ps1 games), memory stick, sd, and micro flash slots.

the 80GB core coming out in september will be just like the current 40GB except that it has a bigger hard drive. so if you want one that will play ps2 games then i would get one quick. the new 80GB core will be $400

  4. the first ps3 80gb is the same as the 60gb ps3, but 20 more gb of hard drive and limited backward compatible on ps2 games w/ software emulation.

the core ps3 80gb is the same as the 40gb ps3, but have 40 more gb of hard drive.

  5. The 80gb Core - 2 USB Slots, No Flash Card Readers, No Chrome Trim, Its not backwards compatible with PS2 games only with PS1 games, And its $399.99

The Original 80gb - 4 USB Slots, Has Flash Card Readers, It has the Chrome Trim, Its backwards compatible with both PS1 games and PS2 games, And its $499.99

Remember, the 80gb Core PS3 is really a 40gb except with a larger hardrive. And the 80gb Core is coming out August 27th.

    Hope I helped!
