  1. Difference between cds and dvds: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article...

Burning movies onto DVDs works best. Try using this burning tool to burn your movies onto a DVD Try Ashampooh Buring Studio 6 (Yes its free): http://www.download.com/Ashampoo-Burning...

  2. CDs are only 630 megs

    DVDs are 4.5 gigs

  3. CD-R - Basic Compact Disk. Can record once.

CD-RW - Compact Disk, can be rewritten.

    These: CD+R

    CD+RW, are the same thing

    DVD+R - Write once DVD (4.7 GB)

DVD+ RW - Rewritable DVD (4.7 GB) [HAS SLOWER SPEEDS]

  4. Simplest answer

There is only CD-R and CD-RW. There is NO SUCH THING as CD+R and CD+RW.

CD-R is recordable (write-once-only), CD-RW is rewritable (can be erased and re-written) . Usable space is about 650MB range.

DVD R and RW... Same thing. Except they're much larger. Usable space is in the 4.4 GB range.

The difference between + and -... Is technical and makes no difference to you. All modern drives (ones made in past 2 years or so) will read both and if burner, will write to both.

To watch on your DVD player, you need software that will convert computer video (usually AVI) to DVD Video format. A free choice is DVDFlick

  5. The best to burn a film on is ether....DVD-R or CD+R
