There should be no difference as both providers are licensed optometrists or at least licensed contact lens fitters.  I've just never been comfortable with the idea of mercantilism and healthcare being so closely connected.  If your lens requirements are simple, you should really have no problem.  If you require a more sophisticated fit, a practice that specializes in contact lenses might be a better choice.
