i want to know the different between these twosentences

1."when you are gone.............."

2."when you go..................."

which one is the correct 1?

and why?

  1. When you are gone is present tense... when you go is a reference to the future. It depends on what you're trying to say.


  2. very intriguing question...i believe the 2nd is correct. because the 1st is foreshadowing something as if it were in the past...which is obviously incorrect. but the 2nd is simply saying "in the future..." so thats what i got to say. (lol another spelling joke you would say "thats what i have to say") good luck and i hope i helped!

  3. "When you are gone..." is present tense. "Are" is present tense. You are talking about something that happens WHILE the person is already gone.

    "When you go..." is future tense. You are talking about something that happens when the person is IN THE ACT OF GOING, which is in the future.

    Both sentences talk about the future since you begin with "When..." but the the actions after that are different.

    They are both grammatically correct. It just depends on how you use them.
