  1. Sugar cane is above ground, making it cleaner and giving it a purer sugar flavor.

  2. There's not a lot of difference.  Sugar cane requires more moisture, but sugar beets (the other major source of sugar) requires more land.  There's no flavor difference at all.

  3. It means that it came from sugar cane a natural sweetener. It wants to inform consumers that there is no synthetic sweetener in their drink or product like Splenda, Aspartame or Saccharin that may cause cancer.

  4. It's important because drinks made with cane sugar (refined sugar) taste better to a lot of people than those made with high fructose corn syrup. They are brighter tasting and have a less heavy mouthfeel. High fructose corn syrup is also linked to health problems.

  5. corn syryp is interesting and not so natural .they take corn boil it to glop, refine it then invert it with an acid ,remove the acid(?) , dry it and hey presto you have sugar.

cane sugar ,especially unrefined, brown  cane sugar tastes like molasses , (molasses is a by product) ,refined cane sugar tastes just like beet sugar in that they have no taste.

maybe the cane sugar in the jones is unrefined so contributes to the taste, rum is also made from sugar cane.
