Whats the diffference between Anorexia and Anorexia Nervosa?

I think I may have the Anorexia Nervosa but I was wondering whats the difference between the two? And I'm going to like try to eat more now, I just never realized only eating dinner was like so terrible!

  1. They're the same thing.  Anorexia nervosa is the full name for the medical condition.

    Talk to an adult in your life that you trust, and tell them about what's going on.


  2. Anorexia translated means "loss of appetite"  but does not suggest an eating disorder.  It is often a symptom in relation to a number of conditions.  

    Anorexia nervosa = loss of appetite due to nervous reasons.  This is used to suggest an eating disorder. Though this is not 100% correct.  With the eating disorder, most people have not lost their appetite, they still have all the feelings resulting from hunger.  They choose, for whatever reason, to starve themselves.  

    It does sound like you have an eating disorder.  Please seek help before this disorder takes over your life.  It is not fun.  It is an awful, awful illness.  All the best.
