  1. A person with Permanent Residency is allowed to stay in the country that the residency is granted in indefinitely, as is a Citizen. However the difference is that a Citizen can have a passport to leave and return to that country without having to obtain a re- entry visa , which they have to pay for . Also there are certain jobs that require you to be a Citizen, the Police force is one of those. I have found that you get through immigration at the airport of the country you are a citizen of more quickly. In a nutshell there are more opportunities being a citizen and less paperwork hassle.

  2. LPRs have to carry their green cards with them at all times, but citizens do not have to carry any proof of citizenship.  LPRs can also be found to be removable if they commit certain crimes, fail to pay their taxes, entered the country fraudulently, and a couple of other scenarios.

A citizen, on the other hand, has the right to vote, serve on juries, and a couple of other things.  Most importantly, citizens, with very few exceptions (such as voluntarily), cannot have their citizenship taken away.
