A tree hugger wants to save the world, a liberal wants to save the world from Conservatives, a progressive wants to save the world and keep it for themselves.  A Conservative wants to leave everyone alone in their own little bit of the world.

Liberals are evil people who wan't to turn America into a country with no religion. But as a true Protestant Christian American's we must fight those evil forces. We must bring back Prayer to School, we must end abortion and we must make Southern Baptist Christianity the official Religion of America

America is a Protestant Nation and we are also a loving, tolerant nation.

A Conservative can also be "Progressive" and usually is! Lets start with Conservative:---- Conservatism is a term used to describe political philosophies that favour tradition, where tradition refers to various religious, cultural, or nationally defined beliefs and customs. It is difficult to define the term precisely because different cultures have different established values and, in consequence, conservatives in different cultures have differing goals. (Some conservatives seek to preserve the status quo or to reform society slowly, while others seek to return to the values of an earlier time, the status quo ante).

The Liberal on the Other hand wants to radically change that which the Conservative clings to and wants to change slowly or not at all. The Liberal will gladly dump everything out, that is  Throw the Baby with the Bath water, and worry about the consequeces later.

A conservative Progressive wants to Change with the times but do it is slow Measuered steps to insure that the system does not get broken in the process!

Neither term in fact refer to Democrat or Republican as What is Conservative in one country could be liberal in another depending on the starting point.

Tree huggers are not activists for pursuing all of the various policies that liberals/progressives are trying to accomplish. Tree huggers are specialists in environmentalism. I don't know whether all tree huggers are in favor of Roe v. Wade, g*y marriage, that slice of swiss cheese between church and state, labor unions, gun control, etc., etc.

A progressive is a liberal who is afraid to come out of the closet.  A tree hugger is a liberal who won't let you build the closet.
