  1. Best regular infantry train to be Army Rangers . Not all make it. Plus being a Ranger means more flexibility and more stealth. Regular infantry may use brute force. Rangers require you not be seen.

    Wood craft essential.

  2. Rangers are elite airborne troops. They are all trained as leaders and have a much higher standard than mechlegs do. They have to be able to operate in small groups independently of large support sections.

It is more difficult getting there. Once you are in, it is pretty much the same as you are already accustom to the higher standard.

  3. The 75th Ranger Regiment is a lethal, agile and flexible force, capable of executing a myriad of complex, joint special operations missions in support of U.S. policy and objectives. Today’s Ranger Regiment is the Army’s premier raid force. Each of the four geographically dispersed Ranger battalions are always combat ready, mentally and physically tough and prepared to fight the War on Terrorism. Their capabilities include air assault and direct action raids seizing key terrain such as airfields, destroying strategic facilities, and capturing or killing enemies of the Nation. Rangers are capable of conducting squad through regimental size operations using a variety of infiltration techniques including airborne, air assault and ground platforms. The Regiment remains an all-volunteer force with an intensive screening and selection process followed by combat-focused training. Rangers are resourced to maintain exceptional proficiency, experience and readiness.

It's a lot more difficult and a lot different.

  4. First there are two Rangers in the US Army.  You have the tab Ranger, meaning they have completed Ranger School.  The Rangers of the 75th Infantry Regiment (aka Airborne Ranger) are what most refer to as Rangers.  They are the Shock Troops of the Special Operations Command.

  5. rangers are part of the infantry. but a "special" part.
