Whats the diffrences in windows XP HOME EDITION and WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL?

im thinking about upgrading is it worth it but mainly whats the diffrence

  1. You wont notice much of a difference, but security wise Pro is better.


  2. Pro is for Professional. Home is for kids. For more detials, check it out on the Microsoft's web site.

  3. The main difference is that the pro version gives you the ability to log into a Windows (NT style) domain.  You don't normally need that at Home anyway.

    The Professional edition includes the following components not found in the Home edition:

    Administrative Tools (in the Start Menu and Control Panel)

    Automated System Recovery (ASR)

    Boot Configuration Manager

    DriverQuery

    Group Policy Refresh Utility

    Multi-lingual User Interface (MUI) add-on

    NTFS Encryption Utilitiy

  4. Basically, you can't connect to a domain with home, and home doesn't include the RDC server.
