Yes, you should train, take classes in acting,voice and dance, gain experience in local theatre, join am-dram groups, hone your skills.

Pay? $50 to $50,000,000 it's all the luck of the draw.

Benefits? For most only the fleeting pleasure of hearing people laugh or applaud their efforts, few acting jobs can offer much more, no 501k or helath insurance.

Just remember that at any time 95% of professional actors are "resting" (a fancy way of saying "out of work") and support themselves by waiting tables and working temp jobs
