Whats the drinking age in costa rica

does anyone know the drinking age in costa rica every website that i go to it gives me a different answer

18 is the legal drinking age in CR. 18 is also the legal driving age which sucks for 16 years olds and 18 is also the age when you can legaly work in Costa Rica.

So the difference is you dont have to wait till your 21 to drink but you do have to wait till your 18 to get a license and the legal right to have a job.

18 but when I went they didn't check me for ID so I just drank as much as I could!!!!!!!

Legally its supposed to be 18, but I've seen 8 year olds by beer there with no problem. I lived in san jose and heredia which there they don't really care at all if you drink no matter what age.

but its not really enforced and there seems to be not many drinking problems...
