  1. As above, but I noticed the ones on our cruise were nearly all Brazillian. As stated, wages will not compere well for Britain, but the steward assigned to us was good so we gave a good tip, although tips were included .So i would imagine with insight you could do well.

  2. I think you should sets your sights a little higher, something more visible, front line.

  3. contact all the major cruise lines, online.

  4. In general working as a cabin steward is hard but lucrative work -- IF your basis for comparison is Eastern European or Southeast Asian wages.

If you're from a country with a more developed economy, you'll usually have better options at home.

Although the cruise lines hire direct for entertainers, more senior positions and staffers, if you really do want to work as a cabin steward then you need to go through the "crewing agency" in your home country (there are big ones in the Philippines, Indonesia, Poland, India, Ukraine, etc.) because the cruise lines rely on the agencies to do a "first cut" of candidates.

You can find a good listing of crewing agencies, and some sites dedicated to this sort of information here:

  5. catererglobal.com

then search for type of job then click worldwide then cruise ships

don't go fo cabin steward it's slave labour
