  1. there is no difference between french and english speaking Canada.  It's all one Canada.  And it's 110v.

EDIT: no visa is needed.  If flying to Canada you need a passport. (and bring your green card just in case they require it for re-entry to the US) That is all.  If you are driving from the US you need proof of US citizenship (or your green card) and government issued ID (such as a driver's licence) but a passport will work just as fine there as well.

  2. The electrical quest ion has been answered correctly, I should know I am a former chef and travelled a lot out side of Canada, as for the green card, that is your work permit in the US, for entry here you need picture ID, so your home residents passport, from your country is enough, but check with the Canadian Embassy or Consulate for there are some country and they can tell those, who require a travel visa for Canada, and it can take several weeks or months to get so check and apply now if you need it.

  3. 110 is the whole North America. You need visa to enter the country, but that depends from which country you are. EU countries need passport only

  4. Jim B. and others - you are wrong, wrong, wrong. If you would take the two seconds to scroll to the bottom of the link that you yourself posted, you would see that there is a section on the CIC visa website which very plainly states: "Many people do not require a visa to visit Canada. These include" ... "persons lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence who are in possession of their alien registration card (GREEN CARD) or can provide other evidence of permanent residence" (emphasis added)

In other words, if you have a US green card, YOU DO NOT NEED A VISA TO VISIT CANADA.

As for the electric question, as others have said, it's 110v across Canada (and North America for that matter).

  5. Canada runs  120/240v  60 cycle it`s the same across North America.

  6. 110v

  7. Your Imigration status in the USA has NOTHING to do with being able to enter Canada.

    Seperate country. Different rules.

Here is a link to the Government of Canada's Immigration website. READ the long list of countries  for which  Canada requires a citizen to  APPLY for a visitor's VISA BEFORE arriving at our borders..

    Go here :

    http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas...

Again, having a US Green Card has NO effect on being able to enter  Canada.
