Whats the eligibillity to be a professor? Differentiate it with that of a lecturer?

Professors are full time faculty of a university, Ph.D.'s.  Lecturers are graduate students working on graduate degrees.  Teaching undergraduate courses is part of the teaching assistantship.  (college professor)

Lecturer is senior for professor. we can say that a professor with lot of experience is known as lecturer.
