Whats the exact reason why our bodies get cold when we have a cold?

During cold one is infected by a pathogenic organism. This can raise the body temperature in order to ward off the organism responsible for cold (defense mechanism).

The feeling of hot or cold occurs because of the exchange of heat. If heat is given away we feel cold and on absorption of heat we feel warm. Heat always flows from hotter to cooler things/objects.

If one has fever the heat flows from the body to the exterior and this makes one feel cooler/cold.

Your body really isn't cold, its hot.  You have a fever and the body is doing its best to cool itself off.
