Amtrak's "Acela Express," which runs from Washington, D.C. to Boston, MA at speeds between 75 mph and 150 mph, depending on the track.

Yes the Acela zooms through Bridgeport here at a robust 30 MPH, not overwhelming, but it is an urban area with two sickening curves.

I liked the Yahoo article some weeks ago about the French train going 500 Kmh.  That is FAST!
