Whats the fastest way to learn how to play piano?

i wanna learn how to play the piano so badly but i dont have alot of money to spend on a real teacher or piano lessons. i was thinking about asking one of my family members but she went off to collage so i need another way...can you help?

You can learn to read music in a few hours. Playing the piano takes practice! There is no overnight piano players. Just getting your fingers to do what your brain is telling them takes practice because you have to gain muscle control.  But DON'T BE DISCOURAGE!!!  Playing the piano or any instrument is rewarding, whether you are doing it for yourself or have the goal of playing for others to enjoy.  Go to www.playpiano.com

and www.musictheory.net to get you started.  I don't know your age but Alfred Basic Adult Piano book are great adult students. The book are very affordable! Under $15. It would also be a good idea to get the Alfred Essentials of Music Theory.  You can get yourself started.  Playpiano.com has several lessons on dvd and several free lessons to get you started, it certainly is the best website for free lessons I've found.

There are a lot of free lessons available in the Internet. There are inexpensive books - very self-explainable books also available. Just a quick note: I hate to burst your bubble but to become proficient at piano, there is no "fast" way. Beware of those "Play-By-Night" quick fix books. The only thing they may teach you to do proficiently is play "I Dropped My Dolly In The Dirt" - I can teach a kindergarten student to do that proficiently within an hour.

Look for books that start simple, are self-explanatory and don't throw red flags in your face with "over-night" promises. Good luck in your endeavor! The piano is a fantastic instrument to learn.
