  1. It's the TGV trains in France.  I believe that they regularly exceed 200 mph on their runs.

  2. in the states, Amtrak Acela in the Northeast between DC, Philly, NYC, and Boston goes up to 150 mph.

  3. The fastest stop-to-stop speed anywhere in the world on a scheduled service is by TGV5422, the 11.56 Strasbourg-Lille Europe, which covers the 167.6km (104.1 miles) between Lorraine TGV and Champagne Ardennes in 36 minutes which represents an average speed of 279.3kph (173.5mph). The world-breaking speeds which are widely publicised are only obtained on special high speed runs.

  4. prolly amtrak

  5. I believe that last one to break a record was the French TGV but Japan has been trying to break that and Germans too with there Maglev train but yet have they do not have long tack to do so. that is the thing too that TGV is capable of such speeds but do not run at that speed in every day serve.

  6. Isn't it the Maglev in Japan?

  7. Oh come on - that question has been answered here about 100 times by now. Is it really so hard to find http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_speed_... ?
