  1. Hey there,

Many of the options are going to require a lot of bandwidth on a hosting account.

However I have found one good solution which I have recently been trialling myself, it's called BoostCast

    http://www.boostcast.com

It allows you to set up your own video sharing community for free (just like Youtube). You can also do it on your own domain name, and can adjust the colours etc and look of your site.

Obviously as it is a free service, there are some limits. For the free service, you are allowed around 10,000 video views a month. Once your site grows in popularity, you can start paying a monthly fee to host lots more videos. They have several levels varying from $10/month+

You can host ads on your site to make a little money on the side.

I think the key with a video sharing site, is to choose a good niche and specialise in it, therefore gaining lots of raving fans. Some of the popular examples I have seen on Boostcast are Snowboarderstube, and a site that specialises in videos and sound mixes from DJ's. Both seem to be bustling communities.

All in all, I'm definitely keen to give it a shot for one of my websites.

    Best of luck :)

  2. Lots of money because you'll probably need lots of space and that will cost big bucks.  That's if you intend to let anyone join instead of just keeping it to a select few.

  3. You do know html, asp, javascript, css, how to set up a server, don't you? If you do and are still having problems then let us know the specific issue so that we can help you. If you don't then spend some time studying them and come back if you have any queries.

    All the best!
