  1. Some games start as early as this coming weekend, but nearly all of the 'major' ones open up on August 30th. The first major game I'd say is Missouri vs. Illinois in an NFL stadium. That game will really set the pace for both of those teams (who are both predicted to be pretty nasty, especially Mizzou), if not for the Big 12 and Big 10 in general...

Week 2 always sucks, with pretty much every major team in the nation playing D-2 schools (or worse), and then on week 3...I think everyone knows what game is going to be the most watched then (OSU @ USC). That game will likely break the record & become the most watched regular season NCAA game in TV history.

Go to yahoo!'s main page, then go to sports, and then click on NCAA football. There is a link on that page right now which is actually a compiled list of all of the most interesting televised games from week 1 on to the end of the regular season.

  2. First televised college game is Thursday Aug. 28th

    Jacksonville state vs. Georgia Tech

not major but the major game on Aug. 28th would be NC State vs. South Carolina (ACC vs. SEC)
