Whats the highest dose i can take without damaging my liver?

its for my bad back ( 2 cracked discs).. anyway its 5/500 apap hydrocodone. and i am a male aprox. 160 pounds and i dont drink alcohol. so what is the highest dose of hydrocodone and acetaminophen without hurting my liver.

It totally depends on your age:

8 pills a day if you are 20-30

6 pills a day if you are 31-40

5 pills a day if you are 40-50

take the normal requirement if you are over 50

8 pills a day. It is not the hydrocodone that will harm you, it is the acetaminophen. The maximum amount of acet. to take a day is 4000mg.

The only thing I'd like to add is that if you drink alcohol, the maximum dose is a lot lower.  Toxic effects of tylenol are usually seen at 150g/kg/hr. The acetaminophen can cause liver failure at about 4 g in 24hrs.
