  1. Wikipedia is your friend... ;o) (search for Babarians F.C.)

It is incorrect that the Barbarians simply play England. They do not. They are a touring side, and tour all the major RU-playing nations (including South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Italy, Argentina, France and Canada, as well as the British & Irish Lions).

They also have traditional fixtures against many Premiership clubs, including an annual fixture on Boxing Day against the Leicester Tigers, and an Easter Saturday game against the Cardiff Blues.

Any player from any rugby union-playing nation can be invited to wear the famous black-and-white hoops (the strip chosen to represent that RU crosses all boundaries and makes no discrimination in terms of race, colour or creed).

Traditionally, the team always includes one uncapped player.

Barbarians F.C. has its own Web site and more information can be found in its FAQ, located here <>http://www.barbarianfc.co.uk/legend/faq....

The most celebrated, and famous, Baa-Baas match was in 1973 when they took on the All Blacks at Cardiff Arms Park (now, of course, the Millennium Stadium). Gareth Edwards (local hero - he played for the Blues at the time) took the ball from inside the Baa-Baas 25, through 7 pairs of hands, to score just inside the tryline. A video clip of that try is available on YouTube
