The answer varies, but most sources I've read name these variety of habaneros as the hottest:  Scotch bonnet, Red Savina, and the Chocolate Hababenro.

I bit into a red savina on a dare, and ended up in the ER (and I've eaten regular, orange habaneros on several occasions).
