  1. I think it was the best choice for now. One in which, Morgan T really hd no choice as Zim is on the brink of total chaos, which I believe is to the benefit of Mugs. My gut tells me that he is in talks with folks on the outside as the US/UK are already taking this to the UN.

  2. I think it was the only choice really, because the  people who wanted to vote for the opposition were being killed or threatened or stopped in some way.  Tsvangirai would have been killed very soon including his followers, and all that would be left would be Mugabe.

By withdrawing and asking for outside help, it is allowing something to be done so that if Mugabe is toppled, then Tsvangirai will still be alive to  start a new Zimbabwe and give hope.  If Tsvangirai were killed, there would be less hope for the people.  People's son's and wives were being tortured, their feet and hands cut off while alive, and then burned alive----that would not stop after elections as Mugabe already indicated.

Mugabe indicated there would be bloodshed if he lost the election and would not step down.--he has all the guns, he has the ability to starve people if he wants--Tsvangirai has no guns and no way to stop what Mugabe vowed to do.  I think we should think of him as a hero---he is doing the strong thing when he knows people may see him as a coward, when it is the best way to give hope for some sort of change and that he can lead the country once the side with all the guns and control over food is put aside.  I am hoping the UN and African nations will do something to stop this evil man.

Bush said, "Operation Iraqi Freedom", but I am wondering what about "Operation Zimbabwe Freedom", which could probably be done more easily than the Iraqi war.  Why free Bosnia and Iraq and sit back and watch Rwanda and Zimbabwe 's attrocities just happen?  Is it just about oil and not really about freedom?
