Whats the item called that converters a car battery enegry to output enegry?

I found the answer i was looking for but this person down here. didnt say the name of the item . does any1 kno what is it called

Sure we use a car outlet (power plug) in our car to use you computer all the time. Just get a converter from your car's cigarette lighter socket to a regular household outlet (about $35).

Plug it into your car and plug your extension cord into the outlet and use it like any other outlet in your house or garage. I suggest keeping your vehicle running so the motor will charge the battery while you are working.
