The golf club is 20 years old, but players have been using it because it offers more spin than the clubs that are legal this season - use of the Ping doesn't technically break this season's rules, because of a legal ruling from 1991 that takes precedence. Understandably, there's been some anger over the confusion. What's the latest?

Jim Hyler, president of the USGA, the governing body responsible for controlling all golf and its rules in the USA and Mexico released the following statement yesterday: "We met with representatives from Ping yesterday and our conversation with them regarding the status of the Ping Eye 2 irons on the major professional American tours was productive, and we are hopeful that a solution can be found that respects and reflects the best interests of golfers and the game."
    No solution yet then!
