  1. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced on Wednesday that the team has signed import defensive lineman Howard Hodges and import receiver Keenan Howry.

    Hodges, a 6-foot-2, 255-pound native of Copperas Cove, Texas recorded 142 tackles (98 solo) and 21 quarterback sacks and was a first-team All-Big Ten selection during his four-year stint with Iowa. During his professional career, Hodges has seen action with the NFL’s San Diego Chargers, NFL Europe’s Frankfurt Galaxy and the AFL’s Nashville Kats.

    Howry, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound receiver is a two-time All-Pac-10 selection having recorded 173 receptions for 2,698 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns in four seasons as a starter with Oregon. The Los Alamitos, California native also earned a spot on the All-Pac-10 team as a punt returner. Howry was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the seventh round (221st overall) of the 2003 NFL Draft and set a Vikings rookie record that season with 247 punt return yards on 35 returns.

    The Ticats also announced that the team has released import wide receiver Carl Ford.
