Whats the legal age to get a tattoo in america ?

i live in aus im 16 i got myn on friday but the legal age here is 18

Some states let you get them if you are under age with parental consent and others dont let you get them until you are the legal age of majority.

in california you have to be 16 with parent approval. but in like fancy tattos i think its 21 or 18

Shame on the place that broke the law and didn't get your parents' consent. Better hope they follow the rest of the regulations about keeping things sterilized....

There is no country law about tattoo ages, it's all within each state. Most you have to be 18, no matter if your parents say it's okay or not. Some allow minors to get tattoos but in most you have to be at least 16 with your parents there.

actually here in Australia it is legal to get a tattoo at 16 with parents consent .. this i know cause my daughters getting her first one soon...

18 without parents consent...
