  1. Minimum size aquarium: 55-gallons.

Are they compatible? Usually, but it depends on the individual Oscar. I'd go for a larger variety pleco, such as the Common Pleco, and keep a close eye on them.

  2. You are talking about 2 fish that will grow to over a foot long, so start thinking 75gal as a minimum.

Also get a pleco thats already large, that way the Oscar is unlikely to attack it. As the Oscar grows, well the plecos always been there and is part of the furniture. Large Oscar and small pleco may end badly for both fish, Oscars have been known to choke trying to swallow a smaller size pleco. (Defensive spines on the Pleco)

Because these fish have individual temperments you can never be 100% sure, but a large pleco is about the most likely fish that can live with a large Oscar.

  3. plecos get fairly large almost a foot long so i would say about a 30 to 40 gallon tank would be good.

  4. The absolute minimum size is a 55 gal tank. The best and roomiest tank for an oscar is about 75 gal. Most people usually overlook how big an oscar can get and how much room they will need. Try to get the largest pleco you can find because oscars are very aggressive and will eat just about anything smaller than them that they can fit in their mouths. I would keep a close eye on the two of them. If the pleco is large enough, then I would say pretty good combo. :)
