Whats the most effective cold medicine you've used?

I'm sick, my throat hurts like h**l and I feel mucus from the back of my nose I guess dripping on my throat - gross I know. anyone use any cold meds that really help?

Nyquil and Theraflu

Nyquil eases a lot of cold symptoms and just makes you feel so much better with a good nights rest.

theraflu really helps to numb your throat.

Buckley's I find it's the only one that actually works,I used it when I got sick during exams and it really helped I wish I stared using it a while back, it works better and faster then the other cold medicines around.

There are none that will do amazing things. Time is the best medicine of all.

It's a cold and the best you can is control the symptoms. Anti-histamines (such as Phenergan) will help relieve the post-nasal drip. Drinking plenty of clear fluids will help thin the mucus.

Analgesics like plain old tylenol will help with the pain and any fever.

If you are on any medication already, or have asthma, always check first with a drug store or your doctor before taking another medication.

Having a cold is crappy since that is all you can do is control the systems like someone else said!  

to add to your list of suggestions already .....drink plenty of fluids (even tho you don't feel like it) and REST, REST, REST!
