I've completely neglected my back garden for 3 years whilst i've been doing the house up and now its a right state. (it was no eden before). i'm wanting to completely kill all the weed/grass/flowers that have appeared and make a new start. Whats the best way to kill all these whilst having two dogs living in the garden during the day?

  1. I just use regular vinegar when killing the weeds that grow in the cracks on the driveway. It's non-toxic and cheap!

  2. I think that some of the people that have replied to you missed what you want to do....it sounds like you want to kill everything, not just the weeds. There really is no "total kill" chemical in liquid form that's totally safe when having pets in the area. "Tri-Ox" by Ortho comes to mind immediately, it's a total kill chemical. However - the instructions do give a recommended amount of time to keep pets off of the treated area. In addition, if you are planning on replanting grass etc. refer to the included chart for how long you wait before attempting replanting after treatment with this product. If you attempt replanting too soon, the residual chemical will kill what you've planted.

  3. Any of the Glyphosate based herbicides will do it. (Roundup,Tumbleweed, etc.) Not the ideal time of year,a bit late, but it will still work.

  4. As said glyphosate is the one to use. Ok for pets when it has dried so use it on a hot day.

  5. thast what i am also trying to figgure out the weeds are pissing me off.
